Last Saturday, I went to 21 Cinema at Detos. I and my friend found "Push" as the most worth to watch compared to other movies. You know … the Indonesian movies that use long hair and thick white powder to scare you.
Anyway, I was quite entertained watching that movie, and it wasn't because of the cast, since I am not a fan of Chris Evans (as Nick). Yes, I like watching Dakota Fanning's movies, but this one doesn't reflect her acting's quality.
I won't summarize the story since Diurno can browse about it. I want to write what I found interesting in that movie.
First, it was like watching a documentary, not a movie. Sometimes, it would be a music clip every time Kira (played by Camilla Belle) appears. I wasn’t pretty surprised when I knew that "Push", "Lucky Number Slevin", and "Wicker Park" were directed by the same person, Paul McGuigan. Those three share the same style and psychological twisted ending.
Second, I love Fanning's tee in that movie. Played as Cassie, she only wears one tee, the one with Reduce, Reuse, Recycle written on. But that tee happens to be an irony for me. There is a scene where Cassie takes out a bottle from a plastic bag, and then she throws it on the street. While wearing that 3R tee! What an irony!
Third, the best fight scenes (in that movie, not EVER) are the ones between two movers, Nick and the sidekick of Djimon Honsou. It's entertaining, but don't compare it to other action movies. Just don't!
Fourth, I found a blooper! In plot that is, not special effect. There is a scene when Nick is pent-up in the car's baggage. He is supposed to be able to unlock the handcuffs that tie his hands while spending minutes in there. But, no! Apparently, he needs an open stage to perform his ability. After a man felt onto the baggage and happened to open it, Nick gets out with handcuffs still tie his hand. Get a fresh air, and tada ...! There you go!
I still enjoyed my time, though. Am I considered a weirdo if I confess writing those four in my book while watching? Yes, I am a weirdo. :D
