I've been following news from South Korea's entertainment industry, and pretty used to ones about public figures who committed suicide. I know, writing "pretty used to" sounds senseless, but that's the fact. No, they were not in a particular suicide sect! They all killed themselves due to each personal problem.
Hope they rest in peace. But, why on earth do they think death can solve their problems?
And just minutes ago I read about former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun who committed suicide this morning, 6.30am (4.30 am Jakarta).
I wanted to say this to him, "Dear, late Mr. Roh. Did you think your death will stop the investigation of your bribery scandal?"
But, all I can say is, "Rest in peace!"
Now, let's cut the distance. I am bringing the Indonesian flavour!
First, why do I never hear anything about Soeharto's cases after he died? Is death powerful to set people's mind? Does his death make us forgetting all?
Ok, not "us".
Perhaps the more suitable question is, "Is Soeharto's death able to make Indonesia's law amnesia?"
Ah, I think Indonesia's law is being schizophrenic at the moment!
Second, how many movies or drama you've watched that ended up by the death of the antagonists?
Bunches. After all, I hate that kind of plot. Even if I rated the story 10 out of 10 in the beginning or the middle, after finding out it was wrapped by the antagonist's death, I would immediately give it 0 out of 10. I watch dramas or movies to make me feel good, not to be treated as a fool who can't find logic solutions for my problems.
Woo the scriptwriter! Woo the producer who let the drama/movie to even see the sunlight!
We are not Japanese whose seppuku is treated as a tradition. There is a philosophical thought beyond that action. Even the modern Japanese tries to change that mindset!
I am being emotional, but I really hope everyone can enjoy their life.
There were a lot of people who respect their live. Instead of live longer, they died in a Hercules accident. There were people who really wanted to spend their New Year with their beloved family, but ended up as the victims of Adam Air's accident in Majene.
Isn’t it sadly enough that, as for now, all the victims are only remembered statistically?

I read this in japantimes.co.jp. About suicide stereotype on Japanese. And how media contributed to that. Click here.

I remembered Stalin's quote: One death is a tragedy, but hundreds, thousand, even millions only statistic! If we infer from this way of thinking, maybe we can meet at main idea every man had committed for suicide, i.e. his or her existent. By committed to that action, means to strength their existent differ from others. Their dies were never intended to be ordinary passing away, but the purposes and differentials laid behind are their main target. Because the strong idea has been succeed through human history longer than human lifespan itself. Die, hereby I am.
